How the mixing works
Each channel of the result is the linear interpolation of the two input channels at your chosen ratio: result = A + (B − A) × t, where t goes from 0 (all A) to 1 (all B). This is the mixing convention used by mainstream design tools, applied independently to red, green and blue.
Because the mix happens in RGB space, the midpoint of two complementary colors tends toward gray — that is expected, not a bug. Perceptual spaces like OKLCH blend more uniformly; you can approximate that path by converting both colors with the color converter first.
There is no official standard for color mixing on screens — it is a tool convention, and this is the most common one.
